The Convention will be held from Monday, August 25 through Thursday, August 28 in Denver, Colorado. Air Travel

As you make your travel plans, please know that while the Convention itself will run from Monday through Thursday, there is an evening welcoming reception on Sunday, August 24 at 5 PM MDT. There is no Convention business on Friday, August 29.                                                                                           

United Airlines is the Official Airline Provider of the 2008 Democratic National Convention.  Delegates may book travel online at www.united.com or by calling 888-825-7604.

Delegates will receive a 5% discount on all United Air travel by referencing promotional tour code 563MO when booking their reservation.  This discount code is good for travel to and from Denver from August 17 through September 1, 2008 only.

2008 DNC Welcome Reception

In an effort to drive national recognition of the ongoing, important work to rebuild the Gulf Coast region in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) announced a special event for delegates to the 2008 Democratic National Convention in recognition of the Friends of New Orleans (FONO), Oxfam America and other organizations affiliated with the Gulf Coast recovery and rebuilding effort. 

The event will take place on Sunday, August 24, 2008 from 5 PM-7PM MDT and will include delegates from all 56 state and territorial delegations attending the Convention.  The event will bring international media attention to the important work still taking place in the Gulf Coast region while marking the three year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, the most destructive natural disaster in U.S. history.

This year's event will be open to all of the folks traveling to Denver with members of the delegation.  Spouses and other delegation guests will be invited to attend the kickoff along with your delegates, alternates, standing committee members, and pages.
