CFO Alex Sink today launched a Web site designed to make it easier for taxpayers to find out where their money is going.
"Florida's Checkbook" will provide quick access to Internet tools the state already has in place for tracking government contracts. The Web address is www.myfloridacfo.com/transparency .
The site combined the new Florida Financials Web site, which Sink launched today, with the existing Sunshine Spending and My Local Government Dollars and Cents sites. The Department of Financial Services Contract Search site is also included on the new "Florida's Checkbook" system.
Sink, a candidate for governor, said the new link is "taking government accountability and transparency to a new level."
